THAT MOVED THROUGH OVERNIGHT AND EARLY THIS MORNING. WE HAD A LITTLE BIT OF A BREAK, ESPECIALLY SOUTH AND SOUTHEASTERN AREAS. BUT AS WE TAKE A LOOK AT STORM TEAM, LIVE RADAR NETWORK AND LIVE LOCAL EIGHT, YOU CAN SEE LIGHT SHOWERS FILLING BACK IN ACROSS YORK AND LANCASTER UP TOWARDS LEBANON. AND AS WE LOOK FURTHER TO THE WEST, FRANKLIN COUNTY, SEEING SOME OF THAT SHOWER ACTIVITY CONTINUING. BUT THE MORE MODERATE RAIN HAS BEEN SITUATED JUST NORTH OF THE TURNPIKE, FROM PERRY COUNTY ON UP TO MIFFLIN COUNTY. EVEN PORTIONS OF DAUPHIN COUNTY SAW SOME MORE MODERATE RAIN, AND THEN ALSO LEBANON COUNTY. WE SEE THOSE YELLOWS AND THE AND THE GOLD SETTING UP. THAT’S WHERE IT’S COMING DOWN A LITTLE BIT MORE INTENSELY THAN OTHER AREAS. THE BACK EDGE IS NOW NEARING PITTSBURGH. THE FRONT COMING IN FROM THE OHIO VALLEY. SO WE WILL CONTINUE TO SEE SHOWERS THROUGH THIS MORNING. AND THEN AS THAT FRONT GETS CLOSER IN THE EARLY AFTERNOON, WE COULD HAVE A FEW SHOWERS, MAYBE EVEN SOME ISOLATED THUNDER SHOWERS THAT MOVE THROUGH. AND OUR PREDICTOR HERE SHOWS HERE’S NOONTIME. STILL HAVE SOME SPOTTY LIGHT SHOWERS AROUND THE FRONT. STARTS TO COME IN IN THE EARLY AFTERNOON, AND YOU CAN STILL SEE A FEW SHOWERS, MAYBE EVEN A THUNDER SHOWER POPPING UP. BUT MOST OF THE AREA IS STARTING TO DRY OUT. THIS ACTIVITY WILL CONTINUE IN OUR EASTERN COUNTIES A LITTLE BIT LONGER, BUT 5:00 WE ARE SEEING THOSE SKIES BRIGHTEN UP AND I DO EXPECT SOME SUNSHINE LATER TODAY. THE STORY THEN WILL BECOME THE WINDS AND THEY ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE TOWARDS THE EVENING HOURS 30 TO 35MPH. WIND GUSTS COMING IN FROM THE NORTHWEST. THEY WILL CONTINUE OVERNIGHT TONIGHT AND THEN THROUGH THE DAY ON SUNDAY. THEY WON’T START TO RELAX UNTIL SOMETIME SUNDAY EVENING AS HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS ON IN. BUT EVEN AT 8:00 THERE’S STILL ABOUT 20 TO 25MPH. SO LET’S TALK ABOUT THE WILDFIRES OR THE WILDFIRE. WE HAD SOME RELIEF TODAY BECAUSE OF THE SHOWERS. THAT’S SOME GOOD NEWS THERE. BUT LATER, ONCE THOSE WINDS START TO INCREASE, IT’S GOING TO DRY THE AREA OUT. AND THOSE GUSTY WINDS WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE DAY TOMORROW. SO THAT’S GOING TO LOWER THE HUMIDITY BACK DOWN █TOABOUT 25 TO 35%, MAKING TOMORROW VERY VULNERABLE, ESPECIALLY IN THE AFTERNOON AND THE EVENING TO AN ELEVATED RISK OF WILDFIRE SPREAD. AND YOU CAN SEE THE COUNTIES THAT ARE IN THAT RISK. IT DOES NOT INCLUDE LANCASTER OR BERKS OR SCHUYLKILL OR CHESTER COUNTY OR NORTHUMBERLAND, BUT FOR NOW YOU CAN SEE THE COUNTIES IN PINK WHERE THEY DO EXPECT SOME LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY, GUSTY WINDS AND A FUEL MOISTURES ARE SUFFICIENTLY DRY THAT IS GOING TO POSE A THREAT FOR THAT RISK OF SPREADING WILDFIRES. NOW HERE IS THE SURFACE SMOKE FORECAST. WINDS ARE COMING IN FROM THE SOUTHWEST, SO AREAS LIKE CUMBERLAND COUNTY. PERRY, DAUPHIN, EVEN MIFFLIN AND JUNIATA HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THE SMOKE AND THE HAZE. BUT WITH THE WINDS SHIFTING BEHIND THAT FRONT AND PICKING UP OUT OF THE NORTHWEST LATER. THIS IS 6:00 TONIGHT OR TODAY, AND YOU COULD SEE NOW IT’S ADAMS YORK AND AREAS DOWN INTO MARYLAND THAT WILL BE IMPACTED BY THE SMOKE AND THE HAZE AND THAT WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE NIGHT AND INTO THE DAY. TOMORROW. WE WILL ALSO BE CONTINUING TO SEE THAT SMOKE INCREASE AND MOVE TO THE SOUTHEAST THROUGH ADAMS COUNTY. GOOD NEWS IS AIR QUALITY IS RELATIVELY GOOD TODAY, SO THAT MIGHT CHANGE TOMORROW. BUT RIGHT NOW IT’S LOOKING GOOD. IT’S WET OUTSIDE. THE NEWS EIGHT STORM TEAM FORECAST CALLS FOR THOSE DAMP CONDITIONS TO CONTINUE. AGAIN A FEW SHOWERS AND THUNDERSHOWERS THIS AFTERNOON. THEN WE’RE CLEARING AND BECOMING WINDY. TEMPERATURES 74. MOSTLY CLEAR AND GUSTY THIS EVENING. TONIGHT PARTLY CLOUDY. TEMPERATURES WILL DROP INTO THE UPPER 40S. SO MUCH COOLER THAN THIS MORNING WHERE WE HAVE THOSE 60S. WE START OFF WITH CLOUDS AND THEN WE’LL SEE INCREASING SUNSHINE THROUGH THE AFTERNOON. WINDY CONDITIONS. THOUGH TEMPERATURES ARE TEMPORARILY BACK INTO THE UPPER 60S. RIGHT NOW WE’RE IN THE MID TO UPPER 60S. YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE WHERE THE FRONT IS BECAUSE BEHIND THE FRONT TEMPERATURES ARE MORE SEASONABLE. SO LET’S TAKE A LOOK AT PREDICTOR AND SHOW YOU WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT. HIGH PRESSURE WILL BUILD ON IN DRYING US OUT LATER THIS AFTERNOON INTO THE EVENING HOURS. ALSO PROVIDING THAT COOLER AND WINDY. SETUP HERE FOR TOMORROW. BUT WE DO SEE MORE SUNSHINE IN THE AFTERNOON AND MONDAY LOOKS FANTASTIC. VERY LITTLE IN THE WAY OF CLOUD COVER AND WE BOUNCE BACK INTO THE 70S. IN FACT, WE BOUNCE INTO THE 80S ON TUESDAY BEFORE THE NEXT SYSTEM COMES IN WITH THE CHANCE FOR SHOWERS AND THUNDERSHOWERS. TEMPERATUR

Scattered showers continue through late morning. Temperatures are very mild in the mid 60s. As a cold front approaches, a few showers and thunderstorms are possible early afternoon. In the wake of the front, winds increase out of the WNW 15 to 20 mph, with gusts to 30 mph. Additional rain amounts around 0.10” to 0.25” possible. Highs will top out in the low 70s. Skies clear through the evening before a few clouds drift back in overnight giving us partly cloudy skies. Lows are cooler and drop into the mid-40s. Winds increase to 15 to 20 mph, with gusts to 35 mph. It's a windy day Sunday with gusts continuing to reach 35 mph. Early clouds give way to plenty of afternoon sunshine, as high pressure builds over the area. Highs are cooler compared to the last several days but are back to average in the upper 60s. Winds don’t settle down until evening. Increased wildfire risk SundayAll counties except for Lancaster County are under an elevated fire risk for Sunday. Low relative humidity between 25 and 35 %, along with gust winds of 25 to 35 mph during the afternoon and evening, will lead to an elevated risk for wildfire spread if fuel moistures are not able to recover. Monday features plenty of sunshine and warmer temperatures back in the mid 70s. The clouds will increase Tuesday. And it’s very warm in the low 80s. A few showers or thundershowers may sneak in towards sunset, as a cold front approaches from the west. The higher chance is early Wednesday. Temperatures trend back to the low 70s, with another rain chance Thursday and Friday. Right now, the first weekend of May is looking dry, with seasonable temperatures. Have a great day!
