Welcome!
Here you will find information concerning our church and its ministries. We hope you find your time spent here a blessing. Our church is a warm and loving church, and we want you to feel comfortable and at liberty to call on us for anything you need. Feel free to browse through the various areas of our website and learn about our fellowship.

Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, 40 days prior to Easter (Sundays are not included in the count). The forty days represent the time that, according to the Bible, Jesus spent in the wilderness (before the beginning of his public ministry), where he endured temptation by Satan. The name Lent actually comes from the word lengthen as in the season when daylight hours are lengthening. Since medieval times it has been a season of fasting and spiritual reflection. Fasts have often consisted of giving up things like meat. (Though fish was okay to eat.)
Many still look at this season as a time to give up desserts or chocolate. Others have begun to look at ways of giving up television, video games, a bad habit like smoking or gossiping. As a boy I remember my home church would hand out self-denial folders with little slots. Each day of Lent we would place a dime in a slot. On Easter those little folders would come back to church bulging with four dollars worth of dimes. As time went by, dimes were replaced by a quarters, and then, sometimes, by two quarters a day.
This year we will continue with our stewardship focus throughout the season of Lent with a daily devotional that will ask us to reflect on how we can put God first and focus our lives on serving God. This year I encourage you to join me in this time of Lent by not just giving something up, but by taking something up. Take up a new and good habit of a spiritual discipline like regular prayer, Bible reading, attending worship, or giving of yourself and your time in mission or ministry.
With forty days, Lent is almost a tithe, or a tenth, of the year. Would you give your tithe of time and resources to God during these lengthening days?
~ Pastor Jeff
